Y6 - 1 1916 AEC 'Y' Type Lorry
Issued 1957- Scale 1:100
| Very first
issues were painted in what is known as 'Duck Egg Blue' and are very rare
indeed (1). the more normal issue was in a light grey with door and bonnet
handles picked out in silver. These small bits can be missing and the
model just appeared in all over light grey (2). The next colour batch was
in a very dark grey and the same occurred with the door and bonnet handles
on this version as well (3). A very rare last run had the wheels changed
from normal grenodised to black plastic, presumably because of the dies
wearing out again.
It must be noted that if a grey model is exposed to sunlight for a length of time, then it will fade and change to a bluey-grey colour but is completely different to the duck egg or mid blue rare versions. It was only ever issued in the A type box |
